CCR5/Δ32 carrier

It is said that one of every 100 Caucasians has the delta-32 point mutation happened on CCR5/CD195 allele. People with this mutant allele have natural immunity to HIV-1 (M-tropic strains) virus. But the point mutations happened on CD4 allele is very rare. That is why it is difficult to find people with inborn immunity to T-tropic strains of AIDS virus.
